Well, I can't say for sure whether or not this applies to everyone in the world, but eBay is working for me now. After a day eBay won't soon forget, things appear to be getting back to normal. My search for Elvis that previously brought back zero results now brings back over 4,000 again. Life is good. Of course if you had an item ending today, you might not feel the same way. It was just by chance that I did not have anything listed to end this weekend. I had actually planned on doing some heavy duty listing to make some extra holiday cash. I guess I'm glad that I got sidetracked now.
Getting Popular
A very interesting thing happened today. There must have been a lot of people trying to figure out what was going on with eBay. I made my little post about "What's Wrong with eBay" as a way to help out regular visitors who might have been a bit confused. I guess Google saw the title that matched up to current news and gave my little blog a major boost in the search engines for a little while. For a couple of hours after I made my last post, new visitors flooded my site. Pretty cool. I hope they all decide to keep coming back!
That reminds me, if you find the stuff I post here useful, I hope you will spread the word. I found a neat little plugin that puts the proper code for linking to specific articles down at the bottom of each post. If you like my site and you have a website of your own, I'd sure appreciate it if you would plug that code in on your site to let other people know that this place exists. It's sort of tough to get seen sometimes on the internet.
I hope none of you took too bad of a beating today with the eBay situation. Hopefully everything is back to normal and stable again. If you didn't check it out, you might want to take a look at the What's Wrong with eBay post. It has some information about eBay's official outage policy.
