Increasing Traffic for Blogs and eBay Auctions

If you want to increase traffic to your blog or your eBay auctions, this post might help you out. I've mentioned before that I started this blog without ever concerning myself with search engine rankings.  I didn't intentionally ignore it, I just didn't realize how difficult it can be to get traffic.  As such, I've got outstanding Google rankings for "Garage Sale Treasure", but that is just a terrible phrase! I get traffic, but not nearly as much as I'd like. Rather than give up, I'm challenging myself to see how much traffic I can get without paying for it or doing anything "spammy".

I was browsing through some Squidoo lenses the other day when I came across some tips for increasing traffic.  I saw a certain free widget's name mentioned several times, so I decided to check it out.  I decided to give it a shot and I've got to say that I am impressed with its performance and the high standards its makers have for it.  They manually check every blog that signs up to use it and will actually shut it off if the blog stops performing up to expectations!  That might sound harsh, but I actually like the fact that they will not stand for garbage sites using it.  Keeping the "riff raff" out ensures that people who follow links provided by the widget will not run into a wall of spam.

If you look at the right sidebar on my blog, you'll see the BlogRush box.  It will just sit there if you choose to ignore it.  I mention that because some other "traffic increasers" I researched actually bragged about sending out "unblockable popups" when people came to the page.  I personally can't stand those.  The short description of this software is that it provides links to similar websites.  Your blog's exposure increases as more people sign up for BlogRush from your website.  That's a pretty weak explanation, I'll admit.  For a better one, click where it says "Add Your Blog Posts - FREE".

If you've been reading this blog for a while, I hope you know that I don't make a habit of endorsing products.  This looks like it might be a winner though.  If you like the articles I post and could use some traffic yourself, I hope you'll click on the bottom of the Blogrush box on this page to learn more and maybe sign up.  By the way, they really do check out the sites.  If your site is nothing but affiliate links without any content, you might not want to bother.

Coming soon, I'll be posting some ideas on how to use blogging to drive traffic to your eBay listings!
