There are some very devoted craftsmen in the world. Some work professionally and others keep it to a hobby, but they pretty much all want to have the right tools for whatever job they choose to do.
Unimat is a very popular brand on eBay. There are a variety of Unimat kits available. Some are designed to act as multi-tools. It seems that one of the most popular applications is as a turning lathe. This brand boasts the ability (depending on model) to work with a variety of materials including wood, metal and plastic. These almost always sell when listed on eBay.

If you are a potential buyer of a Unimat product, you will find that eBay offers a very impressive range of models. Often the prices are below what you might find otherwise. There are also many individual Unimat parts and accessories offered for sale that might otherwise be difficult to find. This is particularly true for older models.
If you are a potential seller, this is not an item that you will find very often at yard sales or even estate sales. In my experience, when a specialty tool like this actually does get put up for sale, it usually is one of the first items snapped up by the crowds that stand in line for an hour before the sale starts. Although I personally have started to get away from dealing in bulkier items, if I somehow came across one of these, for sale under one hundred dollars, I would probably grab it without hesitation even though I don't do any home craft work. These sell extremely well online and when I checked eBay feedback on the sold items, I did not see any complaints or problems. These would go on my must buy list as long as it was in good shape.
Even the smaller parts and accessories that get put up for sale are selling like hotcakes right now. During a recent check, I found that the Unimat DB200 lathe is a particular favorite. The tops selling price for a very nice Unimat SL DB200 Precision Metal Lathe loaded up with a nice array of attachments was $950. Most of the other similar models sold for a few hundred dollars less. More basic models and accessories went for considerably less.
I tried to research other sites for retail selling prices, but it was difficult to nail down any prices for comparable models. Several new models that I found while looking for shopping sites went into the thousands of dollars.?
